Introduction

I have cherished my scrapbook of Madness newspaper cuttings, which I have kept for over four decades. This Madzine holds precious memories that I collected during the 80s, reminding me of the joys and challenges of that era. It’s incredible to see how much has changed since then, but this scrapbook is a testament to the value of preserving history and memories.

Why did I choose the scrapbook concept? You might ask. If you own the “Chocolate Pudding” and “Chocolate Egg” editions, you’ll notice that they feature replicas of specific pages from my scrapbooks. Essentially, you have a backstage pass to view elements of my passion for documenting my childhood love of Madness. I would cut and stick on little pieces of A4 paper photographs of Madness or any little news cutting from newspapers and music magazines around forty years ago.

Extensive effort has gone into enhancing the images and articles and carefully crafting the pieces to impersonate the scrapbook page designs and intent – I was thankful to have the ability to relive my footsteps from so long ago, even in digital form. So now sit back and enjoy the novelty and fascination that is Madness.
